Either Katy Perry is working away at a Christmas album or she and her so-called “derp squad” possess some very strange pre-holiday traditions that are included with decking the halls about four months too soon. We’re with it either way, but we totally think it’s hmo’s.
On Monday (August 10), Katy shared a quick Instagram video of the masked foursome — wait, are the type Grinch suits? — seated with what looks like a piano recording chamber with tacky Christmas sweaters along with a fully trimmed tree. That was our first clue. Then she went and captioned the vid, “When your derp squad writes a Christmas song in August ???.”
Watch below to see if you’re obtaining the same holly jolly vibes once we are at this time, gift-wrapped using a bow and also a tag that reads “To: Everyone.”
First of, pause for most flaily arms because we’re also clearly on Santa’s nice list this coming year. Win.
Also? We are so very aboard with this idea because Katy’s already proven that she’s got a method with all things yuletide. And who easier to get us on our feet with merry measure all fa la la-style than her?
So, within the spirit with the still far season, we came up having a list of Christmas songs that individuals really want Katy Perry to protect for her holiday CD, and we’ll promise to become good kids all year ’til it’s done.
Katy’s already performed this one live (and beautifully) on the Hotel Cafe, and we all know she’ll totally have the treetops glisten and youngsters
listen which has a studio rendition.
“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”
Here’s another where Katy’s already provided us the gift of song in acoustic format. Yes, much more of this please.
“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”
Katy always keeps a wide range of pep in her own step, and then we can totally picture her giving this Brenda Lee classic an exciting new spin leave everyone dancing merrily inside the new old-fashioned way.
“Jingle Bell Rock”
Since it’s absolutely the proper time to rock the evening away, we definitely would like to hear Katy belt out this jam and possess us jingling 7 days a week. Plus she clearly carries a thing in making stuff “giddy-up,” so why don’t you the jingle horse too? The video just for this practically writes itself.
“Baby It’s Cold Outside”
Here’s the location where the key duet is. We’re getting toasty fingers just even imagining who she could link up with due to this one. Maybe she could bring Juicy J set for another collaboration and present it an excellent modern remix spin. We’re engrossed.
