Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr pay tribute to ‘buddy’ Cilla Black following TV star’s passing
Beatles stars Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have paid tribute to Cilla Black, who died over the weekend with the age of 72.
Black, real name Priscilla White, was discovered at her villa in Estepona, near Marbella, in Spain. Spanish mother and father confirmed the identity from the woman being Black understanding that an autopsy is now being carried out. It is believed she died of natural causes.
On hearing what is this great, McCartney described it as a “such a shock” on Twitter. He added: “She was obviously a lovely girl who infected everyone back with her great spirit”.
He added: “From first meeting her to be a cloakroom girl with the Cavern in Liverpool, to seeing her more often than not since, she always were built with a fun loving dignity that made her an excellent pleasure for being around. She were built with a fine distinctive voice and was always a laugh. It would be a privilege to find out and love her.”
Starr wrote: “I just heard what is the news Cilla black has left us she would have been a good friend we shall all miss her peace to Cilla peace and want to the family”.
